Arttober Challenge day 5 - Thorin Oakenshield from the Hobbit. I think everyone knows this face by now. So finding a good reference was pretty easy, finding 1 that had not been drawn a million times already was not.
In the end I didn't want to waste too much time deciding so I kept it simple. I also decided to use todays challenge as a skin reference study too, as well as testing some new brushes I had purchased recently from Marc Brunet after watching his "Shading Exercises" recent video.

A new face, a new challenge, new brushes and not a clue what to do..... it was perfect. ;)

I did feel better with todays shading practise than what happened with day's 2 and 3. Feel like its a good base and when I progress I should be able to finish this quite nicely.

Day 6 challenge is: Sinon from Sword Art Online Anime..... erm but which version? Gun toting version or the elf version with the bow?
